We trade our valuable data with centralized Web2 platforms such as Meta, X and LinkedIn in exchange for ‘free’ use of their products and services. Once our content (data) is uploaded onto these apps, ‘ownership of our creative output is transferred, and we no longer have power over our digital footprint. What’s more, these centralized intermediaries can ’cancel’ us at any time putting livelihoods at risk. SocialFi is changing this dynamic as through blockchain technology, users can now directly own, transfer and monetize their digital content and identity.
